She knows what she wants, and you better not stand in her way! Se7en was created as the second llama in my friend's LlamaLAN 7 poster. I was very pleased with the outcome of Se7en (as she is now known) and so put her in her own background/foreground to add atmosphere and some kind of setting. After trying a few hue adjustments to the lighting, I settled on this red/blue effect.
Lineart done in ink, colouring in Photoshop CS2.
I love how the eyes came out. I also like that she looks unmistakably feminine, which took a little bit of experimentation in sketching before finalising the image. Her armour and weaponry actually come from the multiplayer game "Unreal Tournament 2004". I decided to use something from this game as its one that most attendees are going to be playing. This caused me a big problem though: the guns are very badly designed! The trigger and handle are in front of a massive cylinder, which stores the grenade shells. If this weapon existed, you couldn't hold the gun without having to bend your arm around this huge cylinder. This is why she is pretty much hugging the gun closer to her rather then holding it out. Despite this technical issue I had to get around, I was still happy with the end product.
You're right, her eyes are done wonderfully, they have a fierce feminity to them, like a Amazon or somesuch. and i like how you made her hair pink, but i didnt notice at first. it's a subtle touch, is what i'm trying to say. her neck looks rather long, but then agian, i'm used to looking at humans and that's just what she's not.
i also like how at the top you make a kind of border out of broken glass, and yet they look like leaves, and leaves and broken glass are both such symbolic things not to mention almost polar opposites. which i like, it seems to me to be a kind of irony.
i like her mouth, it looks pensive and concentrated and confident. i dont like her ears, and i'm afraid i cant tell you why, i'm really not sure. but the ears really dont do anything for me.
The neck I can explain - she's a llama. The ears are a problem for me too. I think it's the shading. I think I overdid the highlighting or shadowing or both and they look a bit like chunks of wood more than organic ears. I liked your comments very much, very constructive, some interesting insight I can learn from. Ta!
Nice job with doing the outfit she's wearing. The folds came out well.
And the eyes are cool, too. Interesting style of drawing anime eyes, you have.
The guns and the shading came out well, too.
Nice job with your drawing.

Nice job on coloring armor and cloth, quite realistic. And the background tone really set her off. Her eyes also reflects her personality very well.
I'm not quite sure about her hands, though. a bit small? but then again, I don't know much about llama anatomy...

Well llamas don't have hands, so I could make the excuse and say they're intentionally tiny. But that's not actually true. The small hands are a flaw I noticed and it's a little problem I have to get out of my system.
